MASSILON, OH: "Every Buddy" Family-Friendly Guided Hike (10AM)

Join us on August 22 from 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM as we enjoy a tour of Stark Park’s Wildlife Conservation Center and a short guided hike in the park followed by time to enjoy a snack and explore independently. 

Event Details:

• Date: Friday, August 22 from 10AM - 1130AM.
• Location: Sippo Lake Wildlife Conservation Center
• Hike Distance: Approximately 1 mile (leisurely pace). The hike can be done on the Cottonwood Trail (natural surface), or the Wetland Trail (flat limestone) based on abilities/preferences.
• Cost: Free (advanced registration required)
• Address and Meeting Point: Wildlife Conservation Center is located at 800 Genoa Ave, Massillon OH 44646. There should be plenty of parking in front of the building. We will meet out front and learn a bit about the center, then move to our inside/outdoor enclosures, followed by an activity in the classroom.

About The Wildlife Conservation Center and Sippo Lake Park:

Sippo Lake Park is over 300 acres with loads of towering trees and wildlife. We will make observations and learn about the habitats of Ohio through interactive activities and engaging exploration.

The Wildlife Conservation Center at Sippo Lake Park is one of the area’s only licensed wildlife rehabilitation facilities. Under state and federal permits, with assistance from local veterinarians and volunteers, our staff have successfully maintained a release rate exceeding the national average.

During our time at the Wildlife Conservation Center, we will learn the importance of wildlife rehabilitation for injured, orphaned, or displaced wild animals. Participants will learn about the daily operations of the Wildlife Conservation Center, what to do if you find an injured animal, and get a chance to meet some of their wildlife ambassadors who call the Wildlife Center home

What to Bring:

• Comfortable walking shoes
• Water bottle
• Weather-appropriate clothing
• Child carrier (if needed for little ones; trails are stroller-friendly)

Registration is required to help us prepare materials for everyone. Be sure to register each person in your group so we can plan accordingly.

Bring your grandparents, neighbors, or best hiking buddy—or come solo and meet new friends in nature! This hike is open to everyone.
