Masquerade Ball with Nick Rossi's Jazzopaters
About this Event
Join us at the beautiful San Jose Women's Club, for an elegant masquerade ball with Rossi's Jazzopaters, featuring special guest, Colin Hancock! If you are looking for the most glamorous event of the Halloween season, this is it!
The venue has a beautful wooden floor for dancing, as well as tables for for listeners and a cash bar with wine and beer.
About the Band
The Jazzopaters are the only combo of its kind west of the Continental Divide: a 9 piece ensemble dedicated to the "small group" repertoire of the maestro, Duke Ellington. Formed in San Francisco by Nick Rossi in 2023, the jazz group continues to delight and enthrall audiences - listeners and dancers alike - with both their reverence for traditions and own creative energy.
About the Venue
The beautiful 1929 California Mission Revival style structure was built for the San Jose Womens Club, and designed by the notable architectural firm of Wolfe & Higgins. It includes many tiled features created by famed ceramicist Albert Solon, and perfectly encapsulates the California mission revival style that was popular in the late 1920s/early 1930s.
About the Masquerade
This is an elegant affair! Think black tie meets Halloween crafting! Feel free to be as conservative (think full length gowns and tuxedos) or as elaborate (ballgowns and glitter) as you like! Masks are encouraged, but not required. There will be a parade, and prizes for the best costumes before our official unmasking of the evening.
