Indie pop-jazz fisionMarZ - the musical universe of singer, guitarist and songwriter Markéta Zdeňková. Her songs orbit themes ranging from confessional to lighthearted, cerebral to shamanic. She writes mostly in Czech and has a real talent for beautiful melodies that remain true to the cadence of her native language. This has enabled her to find a growing audience that crosses styles and generations.
Markéta has released three albums, first in a duo with her longterm colleague, trombone player and singer Štěpán Janoušek (Na rozcestí, 2017, Amplión Records), and other two with their 5-piece band (MarZ, 2020, Tranzistor label and #silnouzenou, 2024, MarZ RecordZ).
Markéta's solo recital is always a sincere, deep and spontaneous dive into the landscape of her music. Since she has been living mostly in multicultural Lisbon in recent months, she will also perform some of her favorite compositions by other authors from different corners of the world.
