Walking in the Park you can almost always find mushrooms of all shapes, sizes, and colors poking up along the ground, out of a pile of leaves, or on the side of a fallen log. Where do they come from? Why do they appear in so many different places? Are they toxic? Come out to the Discovery Center to learn about these often misunderstood and important members of our ecosystem.Ages: Recommended 5+
Join us for our 'Marvelous Mushrooms' program including a presentation and a guided nature walk (weather permitting) at 11 AM and 2 PM on Saturday, October 11th. This program will take place at the Newport News Park Discovery Center.
