Martin Scorsese’s wonderfully strange black comedy, featuring Griffin Dunne as mild-mannered Paul, who goes out on a date and finds himself trapped in SoHo—without any money, he can’t take the subway, can’t take a cab, is pursued by angry women, punks, and vigilantes for… well, he doesn’t even know what. Though in the film for a short time, it’s Catherine O’Hara’s vengeful Mister Softee ice cream truck driver that will stick with you.
