Martin McNeill is an old-school blues performer with a distinctive slide guitar style, a finalist n the 2024 UK Blues Awards and a nominee in the 2025 awards.
Martin’s influences include blues slide masters Fred McDowell, Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters and Elmore James. While being rooted in old-school Mississippi and Chicago blues, he also draws on the smoother styles of Sam Cooke and Ray Charles, often including vintage soul hits in his sets.
As well as performing and recording as a solo act. Martin plays live in duo, trio and full band formats. His long-running Bottleneck Blues band features Steve West Weston on Harmonica. The regular rhythm section is JJ Zarbo on upright bass and Roy Webber on drums.
