Join the Worthington community to celebrate and honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., at the annual celebration on Monday, January 20, 2025 at 11am at the Worthington United Methodist Church, 600 High Street.
The event features reflections from Worthington school students about Dr. King's message and how they apply Dr. King's values to their own lives. In addition, we welcome Worthington alumna and Emmy Award-winning journalist Dana Tyler to share her story as our keynote speaker. Musical performances will be featured from Capriccio Columbus and Urban Strings.
Speaker Dana Tyler grew up in Worthington, graduating from Worthington High School. Her career spanned over four decades as an Emmy Award-winning broadcast journalist at WBNS-TV in Columbus and WCBS-TV in New York.
Refreshments will be served following the program.
As a tribute to Dr. King’s commitment to help those in need, everyone attending the program is asked to bring canned food items to be donated to the Worthington Resource Pantry.
The 2025 Martin Luther King Community Celebration is presented by the Worthington Community Relations Commission, in partnership with the Worthington Libraries, Worthington Schools, Worthington Alliance of Black Families and Educators and Worthington United Methodist Church.
