Exiled in a broken world, we will face trials. When two exiles are married to each other they may have double the trials. The Epistle of 1 Peter teaches exiles (us) how to find the grace of God multiplied in marriage and navigate the multiplied trials together in love and kindness for His glory. Every married person needs and will be encouraged by this conference. Singles will find this helpful since they may be married exiles one day too.

Morning Sessions:
Jim Barger - Suffering in the Eyes of the Lord
How do our marriages survive and even thrive in the depths of suffering? What do husbands and wives do when the source of suffering is within the family? Let’s take a look at I Peter 3:12-18 and other verses from God’s Word to receive the help and healing that God wants for our marriages.
Tom and Nikki Batty - Marriage: Intimacy and Delight
This session is intended to explore the biblical basis for God’s design for intimacy in marriage. Elements include aspects of physical, emotional, and spiritual intimacy between husband and wife, and the unique mutual delights that living a “one-flesh” biblical marriage can bring. Based on Gen 2 and 3, Eph 5, Heb 13:4 and many other scriptures.
Nathan and Erika Cargle - Pulling Weeds and Planting Seeds
Keeping a marriage strong, specifically while parenting, is hard…especially when mediocre parenting and subpar marriages are considered normal as you run from one activity to the next. Join us to be encouraged with Scripture and practical information on ways to nurture your marriage in the chaos (fun!) during the busy season of parenting.
Susan Striebich - Conflict in Marriage
Where there are people there will be relationships, and with relationships there will be conflict. Marriage, though a holy covenant before God, is not immune. So how are we to handle conflict in marriage? In this breakout session, we will consult Scripture to consider God’s design and purpose for marriage, key elements of a healthy marriage, and how to establish or restore these qualities when conflicts arise.
Afternoon Sessions:
Tom Batty - Living with Her According to Knowledge (MEN ONLY)
Husbands have a life-long biblical mandate to grow in their understanding of their own wives. This requires continual study, research, discussion, patience, and much prayer, along with an ongoing need to die to self. But the “return on investment” for these efforts can be fabulous! Based on 1 Pet 3:7, Eph 5, and many other scriptures.
Jeni Newman - Wives, Hope in God (WOMEN ONLY)
In I Peter 3:1-6, Peter talks about things like winning your husband over without a word, demonstrating a gentle and quiet spirit, not giving in to fear – ideas that all sound lovely but are harder to live out day to day. The key is found in verse 5 – put your hope in God. This session will include an exposition of these six verses, practical application, and motivation to obey.
Bryan Barnes - In Splendor: The Sanctifying Power of Marriage God’s Way
We will consider what Scripture says about God’s good design for marriage as a means of sanctification. God-honoring marriages are pointed at Christ and spur spiritual growth for a couple. We will discuss ways in which God uses marriage to sanctify believers and grow Christ-centered bonds in healthy marriage.
Vic and Jennie Haddad - Practical Ways to Honor Your Spouse
Does it feel like your spouse is your best friend or just your roommate? In I Peter, God gives many instructions on how we are to treat our spouse. Both husbands and wives will learn practical ways to obey the Lord and strengthen their marriage by blessing, honoring, and supporting each other.
