Marra Sprint Triathlon | 29th March 2026Set against the beautiful backdrop of Mauao (Mount Maunganui), the Marra Sprint Triathlon returns for the 39th year.
Our signature Sprint Distance Event is a draft legal race on a flat and fast course taking in both Pilot Bay and Marine Parade and the run taking in the Mount Base Track. As always this event attracts many local and visiting athletes and caters for novice to experienced athletes of all abilities.
This is a friendly event that always has a great atmosphere and attracts some fantastic participants to our local shores.
Minis & Monsters:
We have the Marra Monsters: aged 11 - 16 years inclusive and the Marra Minis: aged 6 - 10 years inclusive. Each of these events have been created with their own specific distances and separate start times, enabling everyone to be involved.
We also have a Short distance race for the over 16 year old that don’t want to do the Sprint distance. Same distance as the Monsters race - 400m swim, 10km bike, 2km run.
This event is for everyone & there is a race for all the family.
2026 will be our 39th Anniversary.
Distances/Events:
Sprint Distance (Ages 16+): 750m Swim, 20km Cycle and a 5km Run
Marra Monster’s (Ages 11 – 16 yrs inclusive): 400m Swim, 10 km Cycle and 2km Run
Marra Mini’s (Ages 6 – 10 yrs inclusive): 100 m Swim, 2 km Cycle and 1km Run
Marra Short Course (Ages 16+): 400m Swim, 10km Cycle and 2km Run
