About this Event
You're producing a podcast. It sounds great and the content is top notch, but your audience seems to be stagnant. Or maybe you're in the midst of development, but worried that without an established online presence, you'll be launching your show into the vast abyss of the internet. When it comes to marketing and launching a podcast, there are so many ways to go about it, so where do you start?
In this session, Podcast Producer and Strategist Kattie Laur, shares her insights on building a marketing strategy for your podcast at any budget, what's worth the effort when your time is limited, and gives an insider look at what worked and what didn't when she launched her own podcast, Canardian, completely independently.
About Kattie Laur
Kattie Laur is podcast strategist, producer, and writer based in Brantford, Ontario. She's had a life-long love of public radio and has been clinging to the podcasting space since 2013.
Her experience in both professional and independent podcasting have led her down a path of advocacy for Canadian podcasters, with a keen interest in making the industry sustainable, equitable and world-renowned. That’s why she created Pod the North, the biweekly newsletter for the Canadian podcasting ecosystem that features interviews, podcast discovery, and Canadian podcasting news and goes out to nearly 1300 subscribers from across the podcasting industry.
Kattie’s career as an award-winning freelance podcast producer was spent working on projects with Vocal Fry Studios, Canadaland, Shayla Oulette Stonechild, BetaKit, and many more. In April 2024, Kattie made the bittersweet decision to leave freelancing behind to continue her focus on podcast community building, and joined the team at Bumper, a data-driven podcast growth agency, as a Podcast Growth Specialist.
Kattie also hosts Pod the North's flagship podcast, Canardian: the podcast gossiping about Canadian hometowns, which was recently named one of Apple Podcasts Favourite Podcasts of 2024.
