Go behind the scenes at two dynamic Eastern Ontario farms as part of this full-day field day. The day begins at Rutabaga Ranch, where farmer Jaymie will share her experience farming as a mother, the realities of family farming, and how she built a strong brand and successful farmstand. After a short drive, participants will gather at Rooted Oak Farm in Augusta for a grilled farm-to-table lunch provided by Flat Earth Farm, followed by a tour led by Rooted Oak farmers Stuart and Nikki. They’ll share their land access journey, how they’ve scaled their farm and infrastructure from scratch, and how cover cropping plays a central role in their soil health strategy.
Attend one or both tours, with a discounted rate for full-day participation. Lunch is included with Rooted Oak registration. Participants must arrange their own transportation between farms.
