About this Event

This workshop seeks to examine material often overlooked in our everyday. Providing participants with an introduction to using dip pens, we will look at ink as a medium through more foundational application methods. This workshop welcomes the calm and relaxed pace afforded to this technique. While working with dip pens can feel daunting initially, we hope to showcase the accessibility of the medium as well as how fun it is!

Participants are invited to draw inspiration from patterns across various settings during the workshop. Consider the tartan patterns of kilts, the Celtic knots of a monument. How might the repetition of a line or a mark build up and grow to make a larger image?
