Renaissance: Celebrating Mark Hogancamp’s Birthday and 25 Years of Resilience Through Photography
This year, we invite you to join us for a momentous occasion as we celebrate not only the 25th anniversary of Mark Hogancamp’s “second birthday,” the day he awoke from a coma coma following a brutal attack, but also his actual birthday during the exhibition titled “Renaissance.” Opening on March 22nd at One Mile Gallery, this exhibition highlights his rebirth, showcasing Hogancamp’s extraordinary journey of healing and creativity through his compelling photography.
The significance of “Renaissance” lies in its dual celebration of life and resilience. It reflects Hogancamp’s transformation from trauma to triumph, highlighting his ability to craft a vibrant narrative through his art. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore a collection of Mark’s photographs, alongside the intricate dioramas that serve as his creative canvas, all while honoring both his actual birthday, March 20, and his “rebirth” April 8, 2000.
