In April, our Vault Gallery will feature pen and ink work by Mark Brothers.The work in this exhibition is inspired by Mark's imaginative idea that within each storm cloud lies a combustive volatile force, unstable but fueled by direct intent. Through his work, Mark aims to capture this tempestuous and turbulent expression of nature and uses it to stir the primal instinct inherited by each of us. His highly structured and heavily detailed monochromatic drawings are created to invoke a deeply instinctual emotional response by the viewer.
There will be an opening reception on Friday, April 4 from 6pm to 8pm, where visitors can meet Mark and view his work. The opening reception is during downtown Manteo's First Friday festivities and is free and open to the public.
"A Patient Turbulence" will be on display in the Vault Gallery April 4-26, 2025.
