Marjorie K. Rawlings, Pulitzer Prize winner for 'The Yearling,' will be featured in an author talk by Anne McCutchan in the VanGilder Room at the Fenton Community and Cultural Center at 6:00pm on September 21st, 2026.
Rawlings spent her summers in the Fenton area with her family before she became a famous author. One of her books features the farm that her grandparents lived at right outside of town. McCutchan is involved with the Marjorie K. Rawlings Society in Florida and has curated a biography of Rawlings called 'The Life She Wished to Live: A Biography of Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings, Author of the Yearling.'
Please join the City of Fenton and the Fenton Historical Society. Along with the Holly Historical Society, Fenton's Open Book, and the Jack Winegarden Genesee District Library for a special presentation of Rawlings' life and times in the Fenton community.
