About the Speakers
Gwendolyn Chow is the Senior Programme Executive - Field & Science (Oceans) at WWF-Singapore. Gwendolyn holds a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies, and has 7 years of experience in marine conservation and academia. She is a certified scientific diver who has conducted numerous research dives in coral reefs of Singapore and Maldives. Gwendolyn currently helps to manage, support and coordinate local and regional marine conservation projects under the Oceans Programme by working closely with partners/partner offices. These projects aim to protect and restore critical ocean ecosystems (coral reefs and mangroves), as well as build community capacity and resilience in the long-run.
Fascinated by the mysteries beneath the waves, Wei Xuan began scuba diving at 16. Passionate about coral reefs, she pursued environmental education and conservation, earning a degree in environmental science. Dedicated to hands-on work, she contributed to whale shark conservation in the Philippines with LAMAVE and collaborated on coral propagation with Ocean Quest on Sepanggar Island. Currently, she leverages her expertise within the field team, supporting local and regional conservation projects with WWF-Singapore.
