Step back in time and experience Ardgillan Castle through the eyes of one of its former residents. This brand-new Living History Tour is led by Marianne Taylor, the lady of the house in the 1800s, who warmly welcomes guests into her home as she prepares for an elegant dinner party.
As Marianne guides you through the castle’s beautifully restored rooms, she will share stories of family life, social customs, and the history of Ardgillan and its inhabitants. Discover what life was like in a grand country house and meet the people who once called Ardgillan home in this engaging and immersive theatrical experience.
As part of National Heritage Week 2026 and this year's theme, Heritage at Risk, Marianne will also weave the Irish language into her tour. Through Irish and English, she will help keep this treasured part of our heritage alive, giving local speakers a chance to practise their cúpla focal while introducing visitors to the beauty of Ireland's native language.
Tours are free of charge, and booking is recommended. Join Marianne for a unique journey into Ardgillan’s past and bring history to life.
