Margate Bookie presents a week long celebration of books, reading at writing September 28th - October Discover the Margate writing scene, feed your curiosity and be inspired!
The Margate Bookie is back for its 10th year! This year’s friendly lit fest by the sea takes place from Saturday 28th of September to Sunday 6th of October 2024.
The Bookie celebrates our local writing community and looks to inspire the next generation of readers and writers. Every year we bring together Thanet residents with visitors from all over the UK to indulge their literary curiosity and ignite their imaginations, all with the backdrop of Margate’s famous Turner skies.
This year’s 9 day extravaganza includes a weekend of creative writing workshops, local writers showcase and our famous Margate Bookie Poetry Slam, a two-day Children's Festival and so much more!
