Marcus Daniel Community Festival: Walk Against Cancer

The Marcus Daniel Community Festival: Walk Against Cancer is a family-centered community event dedicated to raising cancer awareness, supporting local families, and bringing the community together through unity, service, and purpose.

Participants are encouraged to wear orange or white in support of all individuals and families impacted by cancer. Together, we will create a unified visual of awareness, strength, and community.

The day will begin with registration and check-in at 10:00 AM, followed by the 0.9-mile Walk Against Cancer at 10:45 AM. The walk will start and end near Nyack Memorial Park (15 Burd Street area) and follow a guided route through the Nyack community, including Main Street, South Broadway, and a return path through the park. The route is designed to be safe, scenic, and accessible for all ages and fitness levels.

Participants are welcome to walk at their own pace; individually, with family, or as part of a team in support of those impacted by cancer.

As a special thank you, the first 150 participants to register by July 1 will receive a commemorative event keepsake in honor of the Marcus Daniel Walk Against Cancer.

Following the walk, the event will continue with a Community Festival from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM featuring:

• Family-friendly activities
• Entertainment and music
• School supply giveaways
• Health and wellness resources
• Community organizations and vendors
• Fun activities for children and families

This event is designed to create a welcoming space where families can connect, access valuable resources, and enjoy a positive community experience while supporting an important cause.

A portion of the proceeds from the walk will support cancer care services at a local hospital in Rockland County, with remaining funds helping to offset event-related expenses.
