Come and March with Tartan Day West
The Tartan Day West Coalition is heading to New York for the 2027 New York City Tartan Day Parade on Saturday, April 10, and we’d be delighted to have you march with us.
The idea is simple: bring Scottish communities from across the West and beyond together for one afternoon, while allowing every organization to proudly retain its own identity.
If you are part of a Highland Games or festival, St. Andrew’s Society, Caledonian club, clan, pipe band, Scottish arts organization or other Scottish group, bring your people, your colours, your flag or banner and represent your community.
Not affiliated with an organization? You are every bit as welcome. Bring your tartan and join us.

We hope to bring together friends from California, Alaska, Hawai‘i, Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah, Wyoming, Oregon, Washington and beyond, alongside Scottish friends and organizations from further afield.
Everyone marches as themselves. Your society remains your society. Your Games remain your Games. Your clan carries its own colours. Celebrate your culture, your history, and your tartans in one unified group!
Tartan Day West gives us the opportunity to march together and showcase the best of the West.

Who is organizing the contingent?
As a founding member of the Tartan Day West Coalition, the Caledonian Club of San Francisco will coordinate the practical arrangements for the Tartan Day West contingent, including registration (which we have done already), assembly and getting everyone into our position in the Line of March.
Alex J. Sinclair, Chief-Elect of the Caledonian Club of San Francisco, will serve as the Tartan Day West parade representative and coordinate our section. Having organized and managed contingents for numerous parades and civic events in San Francisco, Alex will handle the parade-day logistics so participating organizations can arrive with their people and colours and enjoy taking part.
Each society, Games, festival, clan, band and organization participates in its own right. The Caledonian Club will handle the practical organization that allows us all to march together. You just need to get to NYC on time with your colours, banners, and flags in hand.

Line-up: Approximately 1:00 PM
Parade: 2:00–4:00 PM

The parade organizers will confirm our exact assembly point and position in the Line of March closer to parade day. We will send those details directly to everyone registered with Tartan Day West.
Registration is Free
There is no charge to register or march with Tartan Day West.
Everyone participating is responsible for their own travel, accommodation, meals and other expenses while in New York.
Registering allows us to know:
- who is marching with us;
- which organizations and communities will be represented;
- approximately how large our contingent will be; and
- who needs to receive the final parade-day instructions.
We particularly encourage societies, Highland Games, festivals, clans, bands and other organizations to bring their colours and make themselves known. The parade is a wonderful opportunity to represent your organization in New York and share your participation with your members, community and local communities back home.
Most importantly, this is a chance for those of us who spend the year supporting Scottish culture in our own corners of the world to enjoy one afternoon together in New York.
