About this Event
ALPFA proudly celebrates Pride Month by marching in the Capital Pride Parade showcasing the strength, unity, and leadership of Latine professionals, highlighting our people’s:
Resilie/ência — Todos Juntos!
Resiliencia within the Latinx LGBTQ+ community is the ongoing process of navigating layered systems of marginalization by drawing on cultural identity, chosen family, and collective memories as sources of strength and belonging.
Resiliencia is about standing tall en medio de las tormentas, and standing back up if you fall after. We learn how to overcome the struggle and obstacles - finding the força from within, adapting and growing.
Resiliencia is about having the will and drive that is inherent to our people, cultures, and community to persevere no matter what. Our communities have been through so much for us to be able to celebrate and EXIST the way that we can today.
To honor the present and invest in a future where we can continue to RESIST and HAVE THE AUDACITY - we must celebrate ourselves and all those who helped us get to this point.
Juntos - we can take up the space that we deserve, show up and show out, and be PROUD of who we are.
We are excited and looking forward to celebrating with you at DC’s Capital Pride Parade on June 20th, 2026!
