March Gladness 3x3 Basketball Tournament

The March Gladness 3x3 Basketball Tournament is the signature event of the ShareWaves March Gladness campaign, a citywide movement celebrating the power of sports to build confidence, connection, and character in young people.

Held at Homefield Athletic Complex in Kansas City, Kansas, the tournament brings together youth teams from across the region for a full day of high-energy competition, community celebration, and purpose-driven impact.

This special event is played in honor of Duke Ommert and in partnership with the Do Like Duke Foundation, reflecting Duke’s legacy of kindness, leadership, and love for sports. The day is designed not only to showcase basketball but also to unite families, athletes, coaches, and community leaders around a shared mission: giving more kids the chance to play.

Teams from elementary through high school compete in a fast-paced 3-on-3 format, creating an exciting atmosphere where skill, teamwork, and sportsmanship take center stage. Throughout the day, participants and spectators will experience opening ceremonies, special guest appearances, community activations, and a featured wheelchair basketball exhibition that highlights the inclusive power of sport.

Most importantly, every dollar raised through March Gladness supports ShareWaves’ #Ready2Play Camps & Clinics, which remove financial barriers and provide access to sports, mentorship, and healthy movement for kids in under-resourced communities.

March Gladness is more than a tournament.

It is a celebration of what happens when a community comes together to ensure that every kid has the opportunity to play, grow, and belong through sports.
