Sam and the 78s present a fun, professional, blues and pop experience. Formed in 2021, they have become regulars at popular Hobart venues.
Sam and the 78s are fronted by the smoky voiced Samantha, whose performances have drawn comparisons to Beth Hart, Renee Geyer and Bonnie Raitt. Sam is supported by an experienced and tight backing band composed of keyboard, guitar, bass, and drums.
The band's roots are in modern electric blues that is blended with pop, jazz, funk, soul, and rock'n'roll to cover everyone's tastes.
Sam and the 78s play tunes from the Beatles, Bill Withers, Tracey Chapman, Dusty Springfield, Al Green, Norah Jones and Amy Winehouse as well as the Blues greats such as BB King and John Lee Hooker.
