Join us for the First Friday of March with Rachel Precht.This introductory embroidery workshop will use donated embroidery floss from Sabrina Liggett of The Painted Cupboard in a rainbow of colors. Participants will work on 8-inch hoops to learn a series of foundational stitches—often referred to by embroiderers as a “stitch-onary.” These stitches provide a practical foundation for future embroidery projects and introduce the range of techniques available to beginners.
The workshop will also cover proper hooping and fabric tension, thread organization and splitting, and an overview of common tools and materials, including water-soluble paper, stabilizer, pre-stamped patterns, needle threaders, needle minders, hoop stands, and pattern types.
Participant interest will be gauged for a follow-up ticketed workshop focused on embroidering beanies or a small hoop design.
