Get ready for our Balboa Workshop with a full month of Balboa classes! Learn the basics in beginner (7-8pm), or get a new move every week in intermediate (6:30-7pm).
Our four week beginner Balboa series will introduce you to the basic steps and shapes of the dance, starting with the close embrace connection and moving all the way through toss outs. No partner or experience is required!
Beginner classes run from 7-8pm. Our beginner classes are meant to be a progressive series. That means each class builds on the previous one, so it is best to come every week! Each class costs $15, and you can attend the following social dance for free.

We are introducing drop-in intermediate Balboa classes this month! Every Thursday, our instructors will teach a new, fun Balboa move. Unlike our beginner series, these classes are NOT progressive, so you can drop in whenever you want!
Intermediate class will run from 6:30-7pm. Students in the intermediate class are expected to have learned the Balboa basics, but you don't need to be perfect at them to attend! Each intermediate class costs $15, but you can attend the following beginner class AND the social dance for free.

Balboa is a partnered swing dance that originated in Southern California in the 1930s. It evolved organically out of multiple different dance styles present in the region. It uses smaller steps and is often done at quick tempos. If you enjoy dancing to fast music, but find Lindy Hop tiring, Balboa might be for you!

From 8-10pm is our weekly social dance! Come dance the night away to our swinging DJs every Thursday. The social dance costs $8, $5 with student ID, or is FREE for folks who take lessons beforehand.
Both the lessons and the social dance are located at The Brownhoist, at 4403 St Clair Ave., Cleveland, OH 44103. Free parking is available in the lot at the corner of St. Clair and E. 45th, as well as on surrounding streets.
