Here are some meeting protocol / expectations
Meeting starts at 6:00 pm. Please read the minutes before you get to the meeting. Misa will post a link when they are published.
If you arrive after the meeting has started, please be courteous and sit down quietly so that the business can continue without interruption.
Everyone deserves to be heard- please listen attentively without interruption when someone has the floor.
Only one person needs to talk at a time. Sometimes we get excited, sometimes we have something important to say. If you are afraid you will forget what you want to say (a primary reason for interrupting) please bring a notebook or ask the Seneschal for a piece of paper so you can jot your ideas or feedback down, because you deserve to be heard.
Please hold any extraneous conversations until after the business part of the meeting is completed. This is super important. If you are talking to one or two other people about Aunt Bobby Sue’s big, ugly mole that’s has 3 hairs growing out of the middle of it that’s going to be surgically removed from the back of her right shoulder, and she doesn’t know if she’s going to use it as a centerpiece on her coffee table or plant it to see what it will grow into, you and the ones you are talking to will have no idea what is being or has been discussed during the meeting, and the extra noise makes it hard for people to hear whoever has the floor. And - if you are having a side bar at the meeting about a meeting topic, you will think that something has been officially discussed, when it was simply some ideas tossed around on the side.
If we follow basic meeting protocol, we can get past the business part of the evening quickly and efficiently and move on to having fun.
