We’re happy to announce that our next contra dance will be Friday, Mar. 14, with music by The Russet Trio (Aldo Lavaggi (fiddle), Peter Madsen (guitar, percussion), and Stuart Kenney (banjo, upright bass)) along with caller Peter Stix.
As always, our beginner’s lesson starts at 7:45pm, with the dance following from 8pm to 11pm. The dance is held at the Albany Elks Lodge, located at 25 S Allen St, Albany, NY. The ballroom is air-conditioned! Clean, soft-soled shoes are recommended to protect the dance floor. All dances are taught, and no partner is necessary!
Admission is sliding scale from $8 –$20+. Calling will use Larks and Robins to denote dance roles.
