Maraya Summer Camps!

The kids are the stars of the show this summer at Maraya Performing Arts!

Are you looking for a fun and enriching summer experience for your child? Look no further! Our summer camps for performing arts are perfect for young artists who are ready to shine in the spotlight.

Our studio will be hosting two summer sessions: "Acting for the Camera" and a musical theatre intensive of "Imagine A Dragon." Your child will have the opportunity to hone their skills, build confidence, and make lifelong memories. We will offer options to join either session or both. WEEK ONE: ACTING FOR THE CAMERA (Session Dates: June 10- June 14)

Our special guest speaker, Vincent Rodriguez III, will be kicking off our first day! Vincent's most recent credits include playing Filipino dreamboat, Henry Cruz for season 2 of With Love on Prime Video, Jeff in Season 2 of the animated Disney Channel series The Ghost & Molly McGee, and you can hear him as the voice of Raiden in the new Mortal Kombat video game, MK1.

In this summer workshop, kids will learn the differences between acting for the camera and acting on stage. They will gain an understanding of how to adjust their performances for the camera, including the importance of subtle facial expressions and body language. Kids will also learn acting basics such as character development and scene study through various exercises and improvisation activities. Additionally, the class will cover audition techniques and how to present themselves confidently in a casting room.

DATES: Monday, June 10, 2024 - Friday, June 14, 2024 (Monday- Friday)

WEEK TWO & THREE: IMAGINE A DRAGON (Session Dates: June 17- June 29)

Students will have a chance to participate in a 2- week musical theatre intensive that will consist of rehearsals and perform a staged reading of a new musical, Imagine A Dragon.

Young performers will have the opportunity to dive into the world of musical theatre! Throughout the production, your child will learn the process of rehearsals, character development, blocking, choreography, vocal performance, and much more.

By the end of the production, your child will put on a staged reading showcasing everything they have learned and developed throughout the session. This immersive experience will not only help students grow as performers, but also foster confidence, creativity, and teamwork.

*No Rehearsal on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 for the National Holiday- Juneteenth*

PERFORMANCE TIMES: 1:00pm & 3:00pm (Students will arrive at 12:00pm)
