On February 4, learn about current efforts to recognize Asian and Pacific Islander American (APIA) historic sites in Indiana at an interactive workshop led by Huy Pham, executive director of Asian Pacific Islander Americans in Historic Preservation (APIAHiP), the only national organization dedicated to preservation of APIA heritage. Explore how APIAHiP’s “East at Main Street” mapping project can put Indiana history on the map (literally and proverbially).
The event will include a brief overview of APIA history in Indiana, followed by an in-depth and interactive presentation of “East at Main Street” with time for attendees to contribute their own research and experiences, and ask questions.
