About this Event

Join Appalachian Understories and McDonald's Greenhouse & Corn Maze for a morning of snacking and regional food history!

Starting at 9:00, an Ohio historian will share information about how food was grown and produced in Revolutionary-era America 200+ years ago on these same lands. Come learn about maple ash cake, fried dough, and important early crops such as pumpkins and corn.

Following the presentation, gather around a campfire to toast crescent rolls and try some traditional maple ash cake! For those with more of a contemporary palette, contemporary donuts and more will be available for purchase at McDonald’s Farm to Fork café.

Admission and participation in campfire cooking are free, but registration is encouraged.

Some seating will be provided, but participants are encouraged to bring their own chairs.

Afterward, the first 30 guests to register are welcome to explore McDonald’s Greenhouse & Corn Maze at their own pace at no cost. Any additional guests are welcome to stay and enjoy the farm activities for half of the regular admission price.
