“Many Tales to Tell” - a one-of-a-kind musical presentation that weaves the threads of Irish music through the tapestry of the American Civil War—and reveals how these timeless tunes helped shape the landscape of American music. It was the Civil War that brought the music of Ireland to the mainstream of American Music and helped to create the musical tapestry we have today. You'll hear the stories behind the songs and tunes and how they affected the lives of the soldiers. You’ll hear music from the composers of the day to the creations of the soldiers themselves. From fiddle tunes that lifted spirits around campfires, to poignant ballads, and songs that satirized the events of the day.
The program was written and arranged by Bill Fahy - who will be joined by fiddler Zach Hirst for this performance.
