Led by Dr. Bruce Dvorak, Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, this session will break down key environmental concepts. It will also offer insights into how manufacturing sectors impact our state’s water, energy, and greenhouse gas emissions.
Learn how to differentiate residential and industrial resource consumption, understand environmental engineering terms like life cycle assessment, and explore how electricity sources, from coal plants to solar farms, shape Nebraska’s environmental landscape. We’ll also discuss how technology and AI are being used both as contributors to and potential solutions for climate and water issues.
Whether you're curious about environmental engineering, interested in AI's growing presence in Nebraska, or want to better understand how your energy use connects to larger systems—this event is for you!
