Get ready for a reel-y fun day on the water! The Town of Manteo invites young anglers to cast a line and enjoy the annual Kids Fishing Tournament — a free event open to all kids ages 4 to 17 years old.
Registration begins at 8:00 AM at the Roanoke Island Maritime Museum, with lines in the water at 8:15 AM. Participants are welcome to fish from any of the downtown docks — from the boat ramp to the net shed — while enjoying a relaxed and family-friendly atmosphere.
Be sure to bring your own rod and reel, bait, and a bucket for your catch.
Kids 16 and older must have a valid NC Saltwater Fishing License to participate.
You don’t need to be a Manteo resident to join the fun — just come ready to fish and have a great time! Whether it’s your first catch or your fiftieth, this is a great way to celebrate the simple joys of fishing and the special spirit of Manteo — where we live, play, visit, and FISH!
