About this Event
Jeffersonian Dinners are a get-together over dinner where one meaningful conversation is shared, exchanging different perspectives. The dinners originated in the 1800s with President Thomas Jefferson.
For our first one, led by Manny and Stacy (Director of Programming), the topic is "What We Owe Each Other: The Ethics of Living in Community". Over the course of the evening the following questions will be asked -
- What’s one moment when you felt the strongest sense of community in your life? What made it special?
- Should we feel morally obligated to help strangers, or is that unrealistic in a fast-paced urban environment?
- In an era of social media and virtual communities, how important is physical place in defining community, or has that changed?
Dinner will include a delicious buffet with meat, gluten free and vegan options. Beer and wine available for purchase.
We encourage attendees to come alone and meet new people.
We'll email guests again as we get closer with further details.
If you need financial assistance please email [email protected] - a limited numbrer of discounted dinners will be available.
