The Ten MANHATTAN SHORT Finalists will be announced later this summer, but generally hail from around the globe. As Nicholas Mason, founding director of Manhattan Short Film Festival says, “these ten short films bring a much-needed positive energy to the world!"

The MANHATTAN SHORT 2026 line-up screens a worldwide line-up of 10 short films that explore a wide range of topics relevant to everyone. After their inaugural outing last year, the Wheaton-Glen Ellyn AAUW Branch is thrilled to host the MANHATTAN SHORT Film Festival at the Glen Art Theatre again this October 1st, and will have offer two showings of the shorts: a 4:00 PM matinee and a 7:00 PM evening showing.

Your ticket supports AAUW scholarships. 100% of ticket proceeds benefit the AAUW Glen Ellyn Area Branch scholarship program, which provides financial support to local women pursuing higher education. By attending, you're helping fund the next generation of women leaders, scholars, and professionals in our community.

What to expect:

• Ten short films, each under 20 minutes, from filmmakers around the world
• Films range from drama and comedy to documentary and animation
• After the screening, you'll cast your vote — and audiences worldwide collectively choose the festival winner
• Approximate runtime: 2 hours

Voting closes globally at the end of the festival week, and the winning film is announced shortly afterward.
