The Manhattan Experimental Theater Workshop (MXTW) brings artists (ages 13+) together to rejuvenate their sense of play, and draw on their creativity to interrogate our world by exploring experimental theater making techniques.
In this all-ages mini workshop we will discuss examples of experimental theater making techniques and put them into practice to create a short performance together. We will read, we will play games, we will use our voices and our bodies to create something new together.
The workshop is a fun and nurturing experience that invites artists to unlock new potentials within themselves. No theater experience is necessary, anyone interested in experimenting with new ways of communicating is welcome to participate. We hope to get a diverse group of all ages 13 and up to be inspired by collaborating together.
The company will meet for a few hours on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday culminating in a short, informal public performance on Sunday afternoon.
