About this Event
This is a 8 Hour Course offered on 5/3/2026.
This program provides firefighters with the critical knowledge and hands-on skills needed to safely manage elevator emergencies and integrate elevator use into fireground operations with minimal staffing. Designed for Awareness, Operations, and Technician levels, the course covers elevator history, types (hydraulic and traction), components, safety systems, lockout/tagout, manufacturer emergency procedures, Phase I and Phase II operations, and current American Society of Mechanical Engineers A17.1 and A17.4 guidelines.
