MALLEUS is the 'other' NWOBHM band of the ex-Witchfynde bassist Andro Coulton, formed in july 1980 with Shaz then his girlfriend, just 3 days after leaving Witchfynde. In 1984 Malleus recorded 3 songs and an instrumental which only saw the light of day on cassettes. Malleus disbanded later the same year and it wasn't until the 2006 that Andro started playing again and after recording a solo album etc. Malleus reformed however both Shaz and Andro were diagnosed with cancer and between autumn 2016 and autumn 2017 Andro was undergoing treatment so Malleus had to wait. It was reborn in December 2017 with a new line up and led to finally recording an album released in 2019 and again in 2020 on the Golden Core label to fantastic reviews including a 9.5 out of 10! Andro was then persuaded to start a band to perform his Witchfynde heritage so from 2019 to Feb 2026 Malleus was again sidelined. However now is the time to bring to the world Andro's unique 3 octave bass and to give the Malleus songs again to as many audiences as we can. ALICE IN THUNDERLAND
