Malanka - Ukrainian New Year’s Celebration

Experience Malanka, a Ukrainian New Year's Celebration, hosted by the Fort McMurray Ukrainian Cultural Society on Saturday, January 17, 2026, in SMS Equipment Place at MacDonald Island Park.

This event is a fundraiser in support of Ukrainian dance and culture in Fort McMurray.

Enjoy a dance performance by the Avrora Dancers, indulge in a traditional Ukrainian dinner, and dance the evening away, including our legendary Kolameyka.

Other activities include a silent auction, 50/50 cash draw, Vinok/Poyas (heads and tails) for children and adults.

The meal will showcase delicious Ukrainian food including perogies (varenyky), kulbasa, and cabbage rolls.

Tickets are on sale until noon on January 17, 2026. Please help support Ukrainian culture in Fort McMurray.

Event Schedule (times subject to change):

• 4:30pm Doors Open, 50/50 tickets on sale and cocktail hour.
• 5:30pm Dance Performance by Avrora Dancers
• 6:30-7:00pm Dinner
• 8:00pm Dance including traditional Ukrainian Social Dances
• 9:45pm Silent Auction and 50/50 end
• 10:00pm Kolomeyka
• 11:59pm Zabava ends
