Connect with intention, creativity, and ancient tradition at this hands-on Mala Making Workshop, hosted by Journey Gems Canada. We’ll begin with a guided meditation to help ground your energy and set a meaningful intention for your mala. Then, you’ll move into the creative process of hand-knotting your own mala beads.
🌿 What is a Mala?
A mala is a sacred string of 108 beads traditionally used in Hindu, Buddhist, and yogic practices for meditation, prayer, and mantra recitation. With origins dating back over 3,000 years, malas were created as tools to aid focus, mindfulness, and spiritual growth. Each bead represents a breath, a mantra, or a moment of presence, making your handmade mala a deeply personal spiritual companion.
👐 What to Expect:
• Guided meditation to start the session
• Learn the history and significance of mala beads
• Step-by-step instruction on hand-knotting between beads
• Create your own 108-bead mala with a guru bead and tassel
• Take home a beautiful, intention-infused mala you crafted yourself
Please note: Dexterity is required for the knotting process between beads.
All materials are provided.
