About this Event
In-Person Only!
Using natural materials and the blessing of mantra, we will make a traditional Tibetan rosary (mala) to take home for our mantra practice, or to donate to KTC’s bookstore.
Lama Kathy will explain the history and traditions behind mala-making, while mala maker Matthew McKittrick, assisted by Kate Hawthorne, teaches basic bead-threading and knotting techniques to keep your mala together and useful!
This three-hour experience will bring you closer to the practice of mantra and your spiritual center, while making a mala you can take with you and use at home.
Have a mala that needs restringing ? Bring your mala with you, or contact Lama Kathy at [email protected] for instructions on how to convey your mala to KTC for restringing.
Already have a mala? Join us and make a mala to be sold in KTC's bookstore to benefit KTC's Operations Fund.
The donation requested for the class will help us with material purchases. Mala stringing kits are available for a $5 donation. Donations over the cost of materials will benefit KTC’s Operations Fund.
Attendance is limited to 35, so we have enough mala-making kits for everyone. Thanks in advance for your understanding!
IF YOU DO NOT HAVE FINANCIAL MEANS to attend, please contact the organizer at [email protected] and you will be registered at no cost.
Can't attend but want to help KTC's Operations Fund? Hop over to our KTC donations page at this link: https://www.columbusktc.org/donate/
