As the season turns, Lucie Mayer and Jackie Singer offer a space to gather together and addresses our losses, past, present and future. To grieve is human. As Sobonfu Some, Francis Weller and other teachers tell us "Positive expressions of our grief are healing." Opening to and expressing feelings, however difficult, supports our mental and physical well-being. In these sessions we share some practices for increasing our capacity to be 'alongside' strong feelings, as well as bringing nourishing song, story and ritual to help create a culture of more resiliance in our community.
Feedback from our last workshop in Nov 23
"Enabled a gentle release of grief in a safe space"
"Very therapeutic to have some space to concentrate and affirm my feelings of grief, rather than having to squash it aside in normal life"
"Meeting others was affirmative - to feel I am not alone and that others are going through similar things"
"Sharing my grief by moving, chanting, meditating in group was very helpful"
There are two distinct offerings. A three-hour workshop open to all, followed a few weeks later, by a series of 3 sessions which will be a closed group, to allow for relationships and trust to deepen.
You do not need to have come to the workshop on 19th October to attend the other sessions.
1. Saturday 19th October 2 - 5pm
A 3-hour journey through the territory of our own mortality, with movement, reflection, story and ritual. Exploring the benefits and challenges of meeting life’s many endings, and our inevitable demise, with an open heart. Cost: £20 / £15 (pay less) / £25 (pay more)
2. Friday 2 - 4pm November 8, 15 and 22
A closed group series of three 2-hour sessions building on these themes, and providing space and companionship for the work of grief which is so often solitary and neglected. Cost for the series: £75 / £60 (pay less) / £90 (pay more)
All welcome - we are approaching this from a neutral point of view in terms of beliefs about life and death, with no particular religious or spiritual alignment.
