About this Event
Typically, when we think of Valentine's Day, we think of love and romance. For those who've experienced or are going through a divorce or breakup, for those who are grieving the death of their person and for those longing for partnership, this commercialized holiday can be especially hard on the heart...even if you try to ignore it. It can also be challenging for anyone grieving the loss of connection, as despite what the media wants us to believe, this is also a holiday to appreciate all of the love in our lives, including family and friends.
Join blew kind of d'griot and grief coach Naila Francis of This Hallowed Wilderness for an afternoon to be with whoever and whatever is on your heart. "Making Space: a time to learn about and honor our grief together" is an invitation to show up however you are and be welcomed in the warmth and care of community. In a culture that celebrates strength and resilience in overcoming grief, turning toward our sorrows with vulnerability and compassion is a radical act. Come be affirmed and witnessed in a community of grievers as we share our stories and truths.

This special offering will be held from 2 to 4 pm, Saturday, Feb. 16, at d'griot, 51 Maplewood Mall. You will be invited to engage with your grief through art and writing practices as well as a sharing circle that begins at 3 p.m.
