Making Festivals Happen

What are the roles that Edinburgh Festivals offer and how can the local creative community engage with them?

Creative Edinburgh has partnered with Festivals Edinburgh to build connections between the creative community and the festivals in the City. This is the fifth event in the partnership series of Making Festivals Happen and will focus on four different types of key roles: Marketing and Communications, Production, Industry Facing roles and public-facing roles.

This event will highlight what opportunities are coming up at various festivals in 2025 when to apply and what else you need to know as a creative practitioner looking for your next festival project.

The event is designed to particularly benefit early career individuals and may also be of interest to mid-level career practitioners. Please let us know how you identify when registering for this event.

Running Order 

This event will include presentations from a selection of Festivals Edinburgh’s member festivals.

18:00 - Welcome and Introduction from Creative Edinburgh and Festivals Edinburgh

18:15 - Festivals Presentations

19:00 - Focused Q&A with festival representatives 

19:30 - Informal networking

20:00 - Round up, thank yous & event end

The discussion will be recorded (excluding the Q&A) and posted on the Creative Edinburgh and Festivals Edinburgh website. Only the facilitator and speakers will be included in the recording.

Photographs will be taken during the event for future promotional purposes. If you prefer not to appear in any images, please let us know upon arrival, and we will ensure your preferences are respected.
