Ledger art is a living tradition: a way First Nations people have long communicated, kept records, and told stories, and one that artists like Tokeya Waci U (Oglala Lakota / Haliwa-Sapon) continue to practice and evolve today.
Join The National Museum of Toys and Miniatures and Tokeya Waci U for a Ledger Art Workshop on August 6, 6:30–8:30PM. Workshop participants will learn drawing techniques to make their own ledger art pieces with their family's story and spiritual energy. Each ledger artwork will be created on the same material paper as the artist's ancestors used.
Art supplies and light refreshments will be provided.
