Make Your Spooky Shadow Casters at The Pottery Shop (DI & Durango)
About this Event
Spooky Shadow Casters: Clay Workshop
Get ready to make something spooky! Join us for a hands-on clay workshop where you’ll create your own set of 3 Shadow Casters designed to give off an extra-spooky glow when lit.
Choose from a variety of shapes and mix & match your three favorites. We’ll guide you step-by-step through the handbuilding process, so no clay experience is needed.
Sunday, September 13 at 2 PM
$35 per person
Ages 12+
Your workshop includes:
- Clay and all materials
- 3 handmade Shadow Casters — mix & match your shapes
- Step-by-step instruction
- Glazing and firing
After the workshop, we’ll glaze and fire your creations for you. Because handmade ceramics require drying and multiple firings, please allow approximately 4–6 weeks for pickup.
Important: This is a hands-on workshop and seating is reserved for participants. No spectators. All guests attending must have a paid reservation.
Finishing Options
Studio Glazed — Included: Choose your glaze color and we’ll glaze and fire your piece for you.
Glaze It Yourself — Additional Fee: Return for one of our glazing workshops, offered several times each month, to glaze your piece yourself before its final firing.
Important Things to Know
This is a beginner handbuilding experience — no pottery wheel.
Ceramics are an unpredictable medium, and we cannot guarantee that your piece will survive the drying, bisque firing or glaze firing process. Cracking, warping, separation, breakage and variations in shape or glaze can occur. Clay also shrinks approximately 15% from wet clay to the finished piece.
If your piece is not fire-able or does not survive the process, you may choose a finished piece as a memento of your session.
Class length is approximately 45 minutes–2 hours, depending on class size, skill level and project details. Classes begin and end at the published times.
