Make Your Own Daruma: A Japanese-Inspired Polymer Clay Workshop
About this Event
--
Join Glowfish for a playful, hands-on workshop inspired by the symbolism of Japanese Daruma dolls.
Daruma are traditionally associated with perseverance, intentions, and goal-setting. You add one eye while choosing a goal or intention, then complete the second eye when you achieve it.
The workshop will begin with time to reflect on the season ahead while choosing a goal or intention you’d like to carry into it. You’ll then create and personalize your own polymer clay Daruma magnet, pin or keychain, choosing the shapes, features, and colors that speak to you. No previous clay experience is necessary.
After the workshop, place your Daruma somewhere you’ll see it every day, to serve as a visual reminder of your intention and the progress you’re making. When you reach your goal, add the second eye to celebrate your accomplishment.
Your ticket includes:
- All tools and materials needed to create 1-2 Daruma magnets, pins or keychains
- Guided instruction, introspective activities and plenty of open making time
- A $10 food and drink voucher to use at Brave Neighbor
Come with a goal or intention in mind, or discover one through the workshop. You’ll leave with a handmade daily reminder of what you’re working toward <3
