About this Event
Make Way for Keystone Plants Right Out Your Back Door

We can all contribute to habitat protection and restoration of a “wilder” landscape. Keystone perennials and trees keep our ecosystem of insects, birds and small mammals in balance.
Beyond predators or beavers, pollinator examples include Goldenrod, Asters, Helianthus, Maple and Oak trees. Let’s explore the simple ways to include them and invite the multitude of pollinators who rely on their food and nectar resources.
Beth Sheppard, a habitat restoration specialist, resides in Worcester County, Maryland. She has a master’s degree in environmental studies from University of NC Wilmington and is a certified Chesapeake Bay Landscape Professional.
Her role with the Lower Shore Land Trust has been a perfect blend of ecological interests and previous landscape design experience. She returned to the Lower Shore as a "come back here" resident to be closer to family and enjoys birding, kayaking and creating wilder spaces to increase diversity in native species. Pollinators are her passion!
Attendees will receive 20% plants the day of class.
