Make Sun Prints (Cyanotypes) in Palm Springs

Get ready for the magic of photography printmaking using the process of cyanotype printing. First introduced in 1842 the blueprint process has been modernized where we combine the handmade process of printmaking with the digtal process of picture taking.

Come to beautiful Las Palmas Arts in downtown Palm Spring, Ca. I'll go over the process of making a SunPrint ( aka cyanotypes). We will make prints from your images and use found objects from the desert ( flowers, plants, crystals, feathers, don't worry about bringing anything I have a bunch of fun objects) after a quick lesson, we will coat the watercolor paper with a light sensitive solution, let it dry, prep our objects or negative and go out into the sun to expose the paper, come back inside and rinse and dry the print. Each person will have the opportunity to make at least 4-6 prints 9 x12 inches each. You will create one of a kind artwork from the desert and become the artist in the desert!

This experience is limited to 10 people max.

We will be working inside and outside and kids 9 and older can enjoy this process.

No previous experience necessary. This is a great experience if you love taking pictures with your phone or if your a seasoned photographer ready to get your hands wet again.
