Mad Cow Comedy hosts a charity show for with 100% of all the ticket sales being donated to War ChildMAKE LAUGH, NOT WAR!
On Sunday 29th September Mad Cow Comedy will have a special edition comedy show to raise money for War Child.
The show will take place at de Utrechter, who are kindly renting their Eventspace to us for no charge, so we can donate our room rental budget. We have a great line-up of hilarious comedians, based in the Netherlands, who have all come from areas affected by war; Iraq, Lebanon, Burundi and Ruwanda, Palestine and Afghanistan. All these acts have agreed to waive their performance fee, so we can donate 100% of the ticket money to War Child.
Come and have a laugh and support this great cause at the same time. Join our community of comedy-lovers who praise our shows for being welcoming and friendly.
Note that this will also be Mad Cow Comedy’s last show at this venue, before we move to a new home, so it will be a fitting way to close off this chapter.
We think children should be able to be children; to laugh, play and have fun! After all, that's what we comedians do too!
We are supporting War Child who are dedicated to helping children in war-torn areas who sadly aren't able to just be carefree kids. War Child delivers life-changing services and support in communities affected by conflicts to keep children safe and help them to heal and learn for the chance of a better future. We want to do our small bit to contribute towards this.
Line-up:
- Rami Nima (Iraq): Mixing the dark with the weird and lacing it all with clever punchlines, delivered in a hilariously dry tone, Rami won't convince you of anything.
- Elissa Kwahli is a Lebanese comedian based in Utrecht. Her dry, sarcastic wit will make you ponder life's biggest questions... or smallest. Probably smallest.
- Elo Bayubahe is a black man from Burundi and Ruwanda (Africa) who ran away from home because he was pissed at his Mom, more than the ongoing war, walked a little too far without a map and ended up in the Netherlands as a refugee on a boat.
- Faris Abusada is a Palestinian comedian whose humor transcends borders, barriers, and checkpoints.
- Hermes Ahmadi is currently touring with his show "You might be here", about being an Afghan refugee in a careless Europe.
The show will be hosted by Mad Cow Comedy owner, Rachel Morton-Youn
